Site Explorations
BioQuest's Site Explorations, specialized half-day job shadows for an entire class of students, are the hallmark of SBRI's science education program. During the school day, a class of up to 32 high school students visit BioQuest for an introduction to global health, engage in a biosafety overview, tour Institute research laboratories, learn from SBRI scientists about infectious disease research; and best of all, complete their day with a hands-on laboratory investigation in the BioQuest Discovery Lab. SBRI prioritizes its visit scheduling to those schools participate in each year's teacher professional development workshops. Please contact the BioQuest Director at theresa.britschgi@sbri.org by March 1, 2009 to request a spring 2009 visit to SBRI. |
