Explorations
BioQuest's
specialized site explorations are the hallmark of SBRI's science
education program. During the school day, a class of up to 32
students visits BioQuest for an introduction to global health.
Following a biosafety overview, students take a tour of SBRI,
learning about infectious disease research from SBRI's
scientists. A one-hour hands-on science activity in the BioQuest
Learning Lab rounds out the day.

Teacher
Workshops
BioQuest has designed a series of workshops for teachers, with
emphasis on global health and infectious disease research. These
workshops provide teachers with in-depth experiences to
translate their learning back into the classroom so that they
can support students in meeting state science education learning
requirements.

BioQuest
Academy
BioQuest Academy is a program for 11th grade high school
students to delve deeply into global health and infectious
disease research at SBRI. This "biotech boot camp" delivers
60
hours of one-on-one
introductions to molecular biology, pathways to scientific careers and critical
connections between students and program mentors.
-
BioQuest
Gallery
Created as a “community living room for life sciences,” the
gallery features artistic exhibits to educate visitors and the
community about the challenges of infectious disease as it
relates to global health and the hope offered by SBRI’s
research.
-
Internships
SBRI offers a very limited number of internships each year.
